The June 2002 issue of Union Action reported on the struggle of school workers against reforms to government aided schools that will undercut their wages and undermine job security.

On September 6, 2002, the Hong Kong School Clerks and Janitors General Union was formally established with 300 members and is affiliated to HKCTU.
